To remove stains, dilute Amtico International Floor Cleaner and wash the area. If it is a tough stain, use a non-abrasive nylon pad, and then rub what’s left with turpentine. After half an hour, simply rinse with water.

Proper Amtico maintenance also begins with proper installation. When installing Amtico flooring, it is vital to condition the tiles, that is, keep the tiles to the area they will be installed (at the proper temperature as suggested by the manufacturer) for at least 24 hours prior to installation, and for 24 hours after. Always lay the tiles flat, never on their side before installing. If leveling compound needs to be used, be sure it is applied before the plywood is installed.

Mats with rubber backing can sometimes leave permanent black stains on Amtico flooring so it is best to avoid these altogether.

Avoid installing Amtico flooring where the temperature will be higher than 27 degrees Celsius, as the heat may eventually discolour the flooring.

It is important to use felt pads under the legs of tables and chairs to avoid scratching the floor. To avoid indents from heavy furniture, use felt pads or wide bearing cups. Permanent indents to the subfloor can result otherwise.
